Major Recruitment are looking to hire an experienced Sales Estimator for a well-established and growing engineering client based in Leicester. The company specialises in precision-machined components and supplies clients across various sectors both in the UK and worldwide.

This is a varied and fast-paced estimating role, ideal for someone with a strong manufacturing background, technical knowledge, and excellent attention to detail.

  • 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
  • The company is also open to applicants seeking part-time hours (e.g. 09:00 – 15:00, Monday to Friday)
  • £28,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
  • Temp-to-Perm

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing accurate quotations based on technical drawings and customer specifications

  • Liaising with production, procurement, and engineering teams to assess job costs and lead times

  • Communicating with customers regarding technical and commercial aspects of enquiries

  • Interpreting CAD drawings and engineering documentation

  • Preparing costings for bespoke parts, batch work, and full turnkey projects

  • Maintaining estimating records and internal costing databases

  • Supporting the sales team in securing new business and managing ongoing projects

  • Attending internal and external meetings as needed

About You

  • Previous experience as a Sales Estimator in a precision engineering or manufacturing setting

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining, materials, and engineering processes

  • Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications confidently

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel); MRP/ERP experience desirable

  • A proactive team player with great attention to detail

  • Lives within a commutable distance to Leicester
